The Francenia Davis Gadson Memorial Scholarship was established to honor the life of Mrs. Gadson and her community service. As an educator, a faithful servant at First Calvary Baptist Church, and a devoted mother, she demonstrated all that is good. This year the board awarded the scholarship to both Greenview graduating seniors. Trynity Smith and Joseph Williams will receive a $500 scholarship from the team towards their college education. In the fall Trynity will be attending Queens University of Charlotte on an academic and swimming scholarship. Joseph will be attending William Peace University in Raleigh, NC on an academic and swimming scholarship. Both swimmers excelled in the classroom, in the community, and in the pool. The Greenview Dolphins Swim Team family is proud of these student-athletes and thank them for their dedication to the team and our community.

COVID-19 was tough on the Greenview Dolphins program. With the country closing, the swim team had to adjust with pool closures. The swim team lost 75% of its membership to other swim teams or they stopped because of COVID safety concerns. The Dolphins adjusted with dryland Zoom practices, outdoor soccer, and outdoor dryland exercises. In mid-October, the team found an indoor pool to begin swim practice. Even with team membership at only 10 swimmers, the team stays positive as they begin re-building and preparing for the 2020-2021 swim season.

Khloe Lynn (7) won the girls 7-year-old 200 Individual Medley at the Eight and Under Championship in Greenville, SC, in March 2021. For the second year Khloe is the SC Swimming State Champion in the 200 Individual Medley.

Gary Sparkman-Couillard (8) achieved the SC Swimming I’M Tough Challenge. Swimmers must complete the following events before their 9th birthday in order successfully complete the challenge: 50 Free, 50 Back, 50 Breast, 50 Fly, 200 Free, and 200 IM. Congratulations to Khloe and Gary on your accomplishments!
